Multifunctional additives of efficiency optimization of biogas production units and the properties of the final digested residue.

Additives aim to develop a range of innovative products whose use will increase methane performance in biogas units and improve the lubricant properties of the residual residue in a sustainable and environmentally effective way.

OBJECTIVES & GOALS

Detailed information about the project

What kind of additives will be studied?

Either individually or in combination

pH-adjustment compounds, in case of an organic load, cause a sharp drop in pH over time (CaCO3, NaHCO3).

Additives that absorb ammonia and hydrogen sulfide ensure non-toxicity conditions for anaerobic degradation while improving the quality of the produced biogas and the lubricant properties of the digested residue.

Micronutrients such as Fe, Ni, Mo, CO, W, and Se will be studied to identify the optimal concentration areas.

Results Utilization

The development of new improved low-cost additives will boost the competitiveness of biogas units, improve the digested residue by combining it into a marketable product, and Qlab will increase its turnover by providing expertise and specialized advice.

Βιοαέριο Λαγκαδά Α.Ε.

The project is managed by Qlab, which is also the Additives coordinator, and the final recipient is Biogas Lagada S.A. in Central Macedonia.
